And despite it’s electronic “faults”, I quite enjoy it. If my boss ever gets rid of it for cheap, I kind of want it. Also, while being less powerful, I much prefer the 5.9 to the 6.7.

Kinja'd!!!

It would make a nice future project/project hauler...

My dad always said his 2006 5.9 pulled better then his 2010 6.7 & 2016 6.7, he pulls 10,000+lbs a few times a month.

I think this pulls better, but the 6.7 stops better because of the engine brake and more gears.

My dad added an engine brake to this 5.9, with the straight pipe (it lasted a month before my mom him put a muffler on it) it sounded wild.

This one is pretty loud stock, but I’ve heard a 5" turbo back straight pipe on a 5.9 with EFILive tuning that revved to 5k... That was loud. It shook the Sonic awning.

If you don’t have Sonic in Canada:

If I recall correctly,  chevy and dodge introduced an option for increased the tow ratio for their smaller displacement trucks to have enough grunt off the line. the differece would be at higher speeds where the larger engines along with the higher gear would come in handy. Jalopnik had a good article on some of the shenagins manufacturers were using in their sales descriptions.

These are nice with the manual. The automatic transmissions tend to develop issues. They don’t grenade, but they start to sort of slip and then slam into gear. Overall great trucks, though. We got rid of everything at work besides Cummins Rams. The new Duramax and PowerStrokes may be better than they used to be, but the early-mid 2000's ones were so problematic for us that we got rid of them by 2012 and haven’t looked back.

We have a 2008 Duramax, and it’s had nothing but issues. This truck so far has had only electrical and AC issues so far. Though the trans does shift quite rough

What are the electrical faults? Hah

They just look so strange in 2wd form, so close to the ground looking.

The turn signals/windshield wipers stop working about 3/4 of the time.

Isn’t that a standard feature on most Mopar products?
